Woman Killed after Car Crashes into Calumet Heights Bus Shelter

Janice M. Gilmore, a 67-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene of a tragic car accident. She was standing on the sidewalk around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening when a BMW, traveling northbound on Stony Island, crashed into a Chevrolet sedan as the driver of the Chevy was attempting to make a left turn. Following this collision, the BMW lost control and hit and killed Gilmore, and then went on to crash into the bus structure. Three other individuals standing at the bus structure reported injuries, but none were serious.

While we are sure that this is an extremely difficult time for the Gilmore family, it is important for them, and any other family in this situation to seek legal assistance as quickly as possible. This will be helpful during traffic hearings and it will allow for a third-party investigation to take place.
