Sergio Romero, a 61-year-old man, was killed after being hit by two vehicles on Monday evening in south suburban Calumet City.

After being struck by the second vehicle, Romero was transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Romero was pronounced dead just before 9:30 p.m. the same night. The Calumet City resident was reported to have simply been walking, obeying all traffic signals, when he was struck down by a car. Romero was lying in the street injured when he was then hit by the second vehicle. The accident took place at the corner of Burnham Avenue and Sibley Boulevard, according to the medical examiner’s office.

Pedestrian accidents like these are devastating. The last thing the Romero family should have on their mind is a lawsuit. However, the immediate investigation of such accidents by a third party is vital. The more time that passes the more likely witnesses are to forget details. In addition, it is important to have an attorney represent the victim during the traffic hearing, in the event that citations were issued.

Our firm has experience with both the investigation of accidents and representing victims in the traffic division. If you or someone you know has been injured as a result of a third-party’s negligence, contact the attorneys at Boudreau & Nisivaco, LLC today for a free consultation.
