John Nisivaco was re-elected to the Board of Governors of the Illinois State Bar Association.
The Illinois State Bar Association was founded in 1877 and stands as the premier legal association in the state. The focus of the association is to assist Illinois’ lawyers in the practice of law and to help improve the administration of justice. This is a voluntary organization with more than 30,000 members and uses activities associated to the profession, including:
- Proposing / shaping legislation
- Educating the public
- Supporting the courts
- Supporting the rule of law
John Nisivaco planned, organized and moderated two continuing legal education seminars on Evidence and Objections for both the Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association. The extremely popular and well-attended seminars provided practical instruction to trial lawyers on various topics related to the introduction and exclusion of evidence at trial.
John Nisivaco received the Newsletter Editors’ Service Award from the Illinois State BarAssociation for fifteen years of service as the newsletter editor for the Tort Law Section Council.
